Dear Members,
You are all aware of the current situation and will have heard what the Prime Minister said tonight. Most of us are in lock-down now.
The committee has to ensure the safety of members and has made a decision to close the club premises for the time being. The gates will be chained tomorrow.
The consequence of that is that for the time being no boats will be permitted to be launched or to go onto the moorings. We will not collect membership fees or harbour dues at the moment. We will review the position as the situation progresses but this is not likely to be for the next few months.
A few members have already paid their membership fees and harbour dues. The treasurer will reimburse those members.
There is only one boat currently on the moorings. If that member needs access to his boat he should contact a committee member.
If any member needs to remove a boat or other property from the premises please contact a committee member.
The Treasurer has indicated that the club is in a sound financial position and has adequate funds to take care of any upcoming bills. The main ones are likely to be rent for the premises and insurance.
We have cancelled the April AGM. The existing committee will stay in place until a new AGM can be arranged when things are back to normal.
You will all be disappointed with this news but you will all understand that the committee had to make these decisions for the well-being of all members and everyone else in the country.
These are not ordinary times but we will come through them.
Keep safe, and God bless you all.
ABC Committee.
